January 6, 2006 — Happy New Year
Well, life on with the traveling road show is just starting and I am already jonesing for the comforts of my salty habitat. With two thirds of the crew, Teddy, BJ and Frank in Houston, and Dad and I in Arlington and San Antonio we have left the fishing up to Captains Pete and Steven. Both have been lucky to find great success along the fringes of the ICW and catching numbers of trout and reds along the drops on the bottom. The laguna remains uncharacteristically low for this time of year forcing the fish a little deeper and making the fishing approach a little more predictable than this summer afforded.
With the weather and temperatures this year, offshore has been absolutely incredible. Kings and Jacks are still hanging around, bonito are everywhere, and the snapper fishing is the best it has been all year. When wind and weather are permitting we are offshore as often as possible if you can get dad and Teddy away from playing with their trophy trout. By the way, that leads me to mention, we have a few more February and March spots to book if you want to go after the trout of a life time.
As for now check out our show schedule and stop by and see us. Until then, 100 more days until warm weather and shallow water fishing.
