October 18, 2001 — TROUT, REDFISH, FLOUNDER and BIG JACKS

We hosted 15 fishermen from TSM, Inc. this past weekend. Wind gusts to 30 mph. forced us to the East cut for both days fishing.  Fish were in the guts along the edges in 3 to 4 foot of water. Best fishing occurred during the tide change. Bone and Chartreuse Texas Red and Trout killers fished along the bottom were our bait of choice. Our drifting group had somewhat of a harder time but still managed good trout along the out side edges of the grass. The jacks have arrived, unless you want to do battle with a train I suggest do not throw bait anywhere near them. One guest managed to catch a 25# plus while wading. This after a 30-minute fight!
