I guided 6 out of 7 days last week starting Sunday and ending Saturday, I didn’t have a charter on Thursday and I needed that day to recoop anyhow.  Offshore fishing here out of POC was really hot, we caught state limits of snapper every day we were out, those fish weighing from 5 to 18 pounds.  Tuesday we hit a good weedline at 50 miles and caught a 4 man limit of ling, 30 to 70 pounds.  The most ling I had caught in one day prior to that was 7 fishing out of Galveston about 5 years ago.  To have 8 last Tuesday was pretty cool.  Wednesday Michael Laws and Michael Moragne, both on Spring Break and both out of Houston, double up on wahoo while we were trolling a rip about 55 miles out, Michael M’s fish we boated after about 15 minutes, it weighed 50 pounds, Michael L’s fish unfortunately came off at the boat and I estimated it at over 60 pounds, Michael L kept his chin up and caught some giant fish, an 85 pound warsaw and some 50 pound amberjack.  David Sams of Lone Star Outdoor News was out with me last week too, he brought his daughter Mimi, and we caught some good stuff, a limit of solid snapper, some solid amberjacks, and that 85 pound warsaw Michael L caught, over all it was a great week and looks like it will smokin hot fishing as usual this summer out of Port O’Connor!
