Texas Gulf Coast Saltwater Fishing Reports

Water Body Report

NORTH SABINE	Trout are good under the birds in the middle of the lake on Carolina-rigged live shad, Top Dogs, Sand Eels and Bass Assassins. Redfish are good under the birds on topwaters and glow and chartreuse plastics. Flounder are good on live bait in the cuts around the marsh.
SOUTH SABINE	Trout are good under the birds on Rat-L-Traps, Trout Killers, Bass Assassins, Sand Eels, topwaters, live shad and shrimp. Bull redfish and croaker are good on dead bait at Sabine Pass and off the Causeway Pier.
BOLIVAR	Flounder are good on live mud minnows and shrimp on the bay side of Rollover Pass on the moving tide. Redfish are good in the surf on mullet and shrimp. Croaker are good on dead shrimp.
TRINITY BAY	Trout are good under birds near the mouth of the river and around Jack’s Pocket on shrimptails and topwaters. Croaker, black drum, whiting, sand trout, flounder and redfish are good at the Spillway on fresh dead shrimp and live shrimp under a popping cork.
EAST GALVESTON BAY	Trout and redfish are good under the birds on glow/chartreuse, motor oil and strawberry Trout Killers, Sand Eels, Stanley Wedgetails, Bass Assassins, Corkies and gold spoons. Croaker, flounder, whiting and sand trout are good on live bait at Rollover Pass.
WEST GALVESTON BAY	Sand trout, redfish and flounder are good at the jetty and the causeway on live bait. Sheepshead are good around the rocks on live bait. Flounder are fair to good at Sea Wolf Park on live bait.
TEXAS CITY	Croaker, sand trout, whiting, redfish and flounder are fair to good on live bait off the piers. Trout are good for waders on the shell on topwaters, black Bass Assassins, Stanley Wedgetails, Sand Eels and Trout Killers. Redfish are fair to good in Moses Lake on live shrimp.
FREEPORT	Flounder and trout are good on live shrimp in the cuts in Christmas Bay. Croaker, redfish, flounder, whiting, sand trout and sheepshead are good around the rocks at the jetty. Flounder are good on jigs tipped with shrimp at Cold Pass.
EAST MATAGORDA	Trout are good for drifters working scattered shell on red shad, fire tiger, pumpkinseed/chartreuse, morning glory and plum/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Trout Killers, Stanley Wedgetails and Sand Eels. Redfish are fair to good on the shorelines and under the birds.
MATAGORDA	Trout and redfish are good on the south shoreline along the grass beds on black/chartreuse Bass Assassins, Trout Killers, Stanley Wedgetails and Sand Eels. Flounder are good on live bait around the locks. Redfish are fair in Oyster Lake and Crab Lake on shrimp.
PORT O’CONNOR	Trout and redfish are good in the back bays near the drop-offs on chartreuse/white She Dogs and black/chartreuse Sand Eels, Trout Killers Bass Assassins. Redfish, black drum, croaker, whiting and sheepshead are good at the jetty on free-lined live shrimp.
ROCKPORT	Trout are good on the grass in Mesquite and San Antonio Bays on live shrimp, topwaters and black/chartreuse Sand Eels, Trout Killers, Stanley Wedgetails and Bass Assassins. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the San Jose shoreline on topwaters and live shrimp. Bull redfish are fair to good on mullet in the Lydia Ann Channel.
PORT ARANSAS	Trout and redfish are fair to good on finger mullet on the North Jetty. Blackfin and yellowfin tuna and sharks are good off the party boats. Redfish are good on topwaters and live shrimp under a popping cork on the East Flats.
CORPUS CHRISTI	Trout are good under the lights off the piers and in the back bays on live shrimp and glow plastics. Flounder and redfish are fair to good near the causeway on live shrimp and piggy perch.
BAFFIN BAY	Trout and redfish are good in the Land Cut and around the rocks in Baffin on live shrimp and piggy perch. Redfish are fair to good while drifting the Yarborough Flats on live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout are good around Tide Gauge on Corkies and topwaters.
PORT MANSFIELD	Trout, redfish, flounder and sand trout are fair to good on live shrimp around East Cut. Redfish are good on topwaters in West Bay. Trout, redfish and black drum are fair to good on live shrimp in the Intracoastal.
SOUTH PADRE	Redfish are fair to good on the flats on live shrimp and piggy perch. Trout and redfish are fair to good at the jetty on live bait. Trout, sand trout, croaker and flounder are fair to good on shrimp in South Bay.
PORT ISABEL	Trout, redfish, sand trout, whiting, grouper, flounder and sheepshead are good on live bait and fresh dead shrimp from the piers. Trout are fair to good on topwaters, bug juice Trout Killer II’s and Stanley Wedgetails at Laguna Vista.
