catch 2000 catch non for me!??

quick question a looking for a few pointers.. never fished a catch 2000 before but cant resist the temptations of tying one on because of all the popularity behind them! just seems i cant catch fish on them… i love topwater fishing.. but i cant make that lil catch stay submerged or get a darn hit… am i just fishing a lil too fast…. or do i just need to stick to my ol faithful ssuper spook trout catching machine!?!?
To get to the point….. how do u work catches effectivley!?!? thanks for all tips and advice! deuce
